We stayed at the marina 3 nites and did have a good nites rest. The Palm trees do not do justice to how strong the winds were but we did encounter 45 mph winds.
It is a great little spot and very friendly at the marina. The restaurant had a band every nite and a swimming pool which we took advantage of after walking to the Publix for groceries it was about a mile and half away. We walked there and walked back with the groceries.
Spotted this on our walk and not sure what it is. And there is John doing his best to keep the groceries stable for us to get back. Wow the West Marine traveler saved us again.
We tried to meet up with Jill and Ryan but alas it was not to be. WE left the marina about 10:00 AM to begin our trek on the ICW south and find an anchorage. The houses and boats just keep getting bigger.
All the restaurants and marina’s are all on the edge of the ICW. And at every bridge we came across these Lizards or Iguana. I think they are sunbathing.
Forgot to mention we had a free boat wash at the marina last night. When it rains it comes down pretty good.
We came through Fort Lauderdale.
Then came through Hollywood and heading on to Miami.
Turned the AIS of again it really does not helps us when it is so busy.
Came across this pink boat its pretty cute.
Cruise ships and commercial ships unloading all in Fort Lauderdale. Even the tow boats are bigger.
Lots of cruise boats for the river we must have passed about fifteen plus water taxi boats.
More abandoned boats but not as bad as it has been. And those lizards are everywhere.
My what long nails you have and must be sharp as they climb the gates.
We left Fort Lauderdale behind and carried on to find an anchorage. Found one called Oleta State Park next to University Cove. Will explore tomorrow.
We are just around the corner from Haulover Marina.
