Left Joliet

We had the last nite a pre-wake crossing for Jaycee Lynn as they started in Ottawa and that is where we are going tomorrow.

We left Joliet with 7 other boats to head down the river.  Charlie and Ann walked us through one of the locks and also called ahead to make reservations for our boat at Ottawa, Illinois not Canada.  We came through most locks uneventful until we got to the lat look before Ottawa and we where held up for 3 hours.  Makes for a long day so when we got to the marina John and I had a quick bite in the restaurant.

Couple of bird pictures along the way we even saw a deer floating in the river that drown.  A few days before we saw a beaver in the water that hand drown.

They look to be abondoned barges but apparently every company has a tag and knows exactly where every barge is.

You see these everywhere along the river.  It is either for duck hunting or goose I’m not sure which.  All kinds shapes and sizes.

There are corn fields in behind these trailers and each trailer has an outhouse beside it.  Not sure if these people are on vacation or if they work the fields.

Thats Unruly in front of us and we are coming up to a Crane working on the bridge.  Lots of work on the bridges down here..

Not sure why the seagulls love this barge.

This is the lock we where stuck at for 3 hours.  I finally latched on to one of these and we hung out on this for quite some time.
