These are pictures from our walk in town and the pool and hot tub.

You don’t see a sign like this everyday.

DSC04117.JPG

DSC04120.JPGBy the way I should not complain but the temperatures for the last few days are high 90’s to much for me so we used the pool.  Don’t forget the pool floats.

DSC04118.JPG

Enough about that we decided to move the next day and here are some of the sites along the way back on the Mississippi.

Just down the river is this waterslide that no one told us about now it was to far to walk but I think I may have enjoyed bicycling to it to try it out.

What beautiful rock faces between Grafton and Alton where we are headed.

DSC04137.JPG

Now thats one beautiful house up on top of that limestone.

We still have the duck hunters shelters all along the river.DSC04145.JPG

DSC04148.JPG

WE are fast approaching Alton to rest again for a few days and stock up on supplies.

DSC04151.JPG

This is the casino just before we got to our marina.

DSC04152.JPG

And this is the marina we are in under the bridge, a little noisy but not to bad.  Most boats are in covered slips we are not as we have the antenae up.

Now this is the bridge at night and we are way down there.

DSC04158.JPG

We decided to rent a car with Marshall and Corine and go shopping so this is what we did.

DSC04159.JPG

Toured the downtown core to find a restaurant to eat in.

This is a metal statue ot a restaurant of the Alton friend giant.  This man was only early 20’s when he passed away but he stands 8’11” tall.  They have monuments as well as pictures of him with other people and they are only 1/2 his size.

Went to Fast Eddies for a drink as everyone says you must go to fast eddies.  Largest dive bar I have ever been in.  And it has been written up as the Largest and most entertaining.

DSC04196.JPG

DSC04197.JPG

Oh Yah I forgot we did go shopping and at WalMart got over $400.00 in booze and groceries enough to last a couple of weeks HAHA,  Then before Fast Eddies we took a road trip to some caves that we had seen when we came down the river.

Now there are fences up blocking the entrance as it appears to be dangerous with falling rocks.

DSC04181.JPG

A fence has never stopped him before.

This was a nice side trip and a lot of fun and walking.

We decided to eat at Mac’s  it was a great pizza place at one time but I must admit I was rather disappointed as they expanded their menu to a little of everything and not that great.  Fast food bar is my rating.

Thats it for now tomorrow we are taking the car to another city.
