We left Waterford and headed to Champlain Lock #1 passed Mechanicville which had a free dock with hydro and locked through 7 locks and turned up a creek to Fort Edward free dock and Hydro. Tired it was a long day.
Now John wanted me to go for a walk into town but I was to tired so he went for a walk and came back to talk to someone on the park bench. By the way everyone says if you catch fish do not eat it.
Left the next day and headed on down the river.
Still on the Hudson River but they call it Champlain Canal. More locks and came to rest at Whitehall City dock tied up and free Electricity.
This is across the bridge and is a restaurant and museum.
We are parked in front of the police station and fire station so pretty safe it was.
Left Whitehall City and traveled on.
The other side of the railway tracks is Lake George. The mountains are the Andreondack hope I spelled correctly.
Now this was interesting these guys fishing I know John and I are a little Red Neck.
We came to rest and anchored at Fort Ticondergo. Great spot and we took the dingy through a narrow river system into the town and took pictures of the falls.
It started to rain so we went back to the boat and met MOMBA doing the loop with a tent. Capatin Kevin and Mary. Great and interesting people and we saw them again the next day at the Fort Tour we took.
That’s our boat from the Fort. The fort was supper interesting they make their own clothes, shoes, cooking and basically live at the fort daily.
Getting a haircut and a shave.
Firing of the cannon which made me jump so this is not in focus.
This is Mount Defiance I zoomed in it they had a fort here as well.
Part of the battlefields, and then back to the boat after another long day.
We even had a sail boat get out his guitar and entertain for awhile.
Kara such a wonderful trip. I can’t wait until you get home. So glad you did this!

So. Great pictures of this leg. The fishermen, I cannot wait to see if John will grow the same beard? What a picture that will be. The Forts are really awesome. Glad you are having a ball on this trip of a lifetime.

What is your ETA to Lake Simcoe (if that is possible)? We are going to be in Nova Scotia from July 25 until around August 17. We would love to hear your adventures in person!
