I will get tired of showing you all the street names but if you can imagine all those street we travel under and all the shops and stores and condo’s along the River it is totally amazing.
I truly did not believe that the homeless do live under the bridges. It is a shame when you see such a great city and yet the homeless are living in tents near the bridges.
Lots of condos and marina’s.
We are now heading out of the city and down the Illinois River heading to Joliet.
This bridge is a masterpiece look a the size of the chain to pull this up and they take it up all the way not just to let us through.
Now this is the street that West Marine is on in Chicago.
It may be a few minutes before we come to another bridge. HAHA
Now we are coming into the barges on the river so we must keep an eye out.
My first wildlife in awhile but it is a blue heron.
It is pretty wild to see all these barges along the river.
These tugs push the barges along the river for miles just don’t understand when they are 600 feet long how they can control these barges to go left or right or port and starboard.
This is one that is full of fuel.
This one we passed on the river on his port side. It is close quarters but not as bad at it appears.
WE still have not got to Joliet so more to come.
